‘Quantity Surveying’, put simply is the management of all associated costs within a building project. The Quantity Surveyor will generally follow the structure of the RIBA Plan of Work and from the initial feasibility study the Quantity Surveyor will review and assess the costs within the project right through to the agreement of the final account.
SPC believe that the 3 main components in achieving sound cost control on a project are:
• Feasibility stage cost advice is vital in reaching the right design solution for the client
• An understanding of the industry and the alternatives available to assist with Value Engineering
• Technical acumen and being up to speed with the latest developments in technology.
